Meet Our Team
Jonathan Lee, President
Few builders have the blend of education, experience and enthusiasm that Jonathan Lee invests in his company and home building endeavors for his clients. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Virginia Tech's College of Architecture, Jonathan started his career in commercial construction before launching Homes by Jonathan Lee, Inc., in 1995. Since then his homes have received yearly recognition, earning gold and silver awards in the Parade of Homes sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem.
Jonathan Lee is known for his ability to stay on the leading edge of his profession, always expanding his knowledge and professional capabilities. Using the latest building techniques, innovative technology and new materials, Jonathan explores options that make homes wise investments as well as wonderful living spaces.
Jonathan's abilities to listen, communicate and collaborate facilitate excellent client relationships and have earned him many word-of-mouth recommendations. His thorough organization and management of the construction process make him a sought-after builder for discerning homebuyers. From the initial discussions forward, he works closely with his clients and is available to answer their questions. His engagement at each of his job sites ensures that the work meets his and the clients’ high standards.
As Jonathan has built his company, he has served as president and board member for the Home Builders Association and has chaired vocational education initiatives to bring interested students into the field. He has also worked with Habitat for Humanity to share his talents and help provide well-built homes in the community.
Quality and integrity are the hallmarks both of Jonathan individually and of Homes by Jonathan Lee.
Tim Fox, Superintendent
When “millions” of pieces go into a custom home-building process, having Tim Fox leading the construction initiative ensures clients’ peace of mind. Tim has had a life-long love for building things and construction tools were among his first playthings. After building his first workbench at the age of 10, he developed his skill sets with hands-on building experiences and education.
He earned a degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and worked in management as well as construction, giving him a thorough grounding in all aspects of the construction business. Tim has also been a business owner and contractor for home building, additions and remodeling. His personal experience with the manual labor required for homebuilding promotes strong relationships with the contractors he supervises. Tim’s communications style makes him an excellent liaison – working with clients, contractors, vendors and colleagues.
Building beautiful homes and facilitating the intricate processes that keep the project on track, bring a lot of satisfaction to Tim and to the clients who enjoy their completed home. His reputation as a top superintendent who anticipates and resolves potential problems while achieving the quality and precision clients expect, is well-deserved. Tim’s versatility makes it possible to creatively address all facets of the project well.
Tim and his family recently moved into a new home that included some hands-on labor from Tim and help from his children. It was quite a family experience and when they moved in, they immediately felt like they were at home. It’s a feeling of homecoming that clients also experience when they move into their Homes by Jonathan Lee custom home.
Alicia Lee, Interior Designer
When your company is known for providing a lot of service and clients need to make many choices, a professional interior designer is a valuable team member. For many Homes by Jonathan Lee clients, envisioning what their home will look like is challenging and choosing the materials, products, colors and finishes is daunting. Alicia Lee guides clients through the decision-making and helps them orchestrate a home that interprets their preferences and reflects their personal taste.
Her level of engagement depends on the clients and is tailored for their needs and desires. Alicia’s design work with clients ranges from a little assistance with putting together the outside and inside materials for a new home to full-blown design incorporating materials and finishes (colors, brick, stone, siding, rock shingles) for the outside of the home and paints, finishes, counter tops, fixtures, cabinets, lighting and furnishings for the inside. She can also help clients blend their existing furnishings into their new home and find the furniture, window treatments and other furnishings they desire.
Alicia Lee grew up in a family that had a home decorating business and she gained valuable experience with furnishings and window treatments. She earned her undergraduate degree in Housing from East Carolina University, which gave her a thorough grounding in architectural features and design. She’s earned her American Society of Interior Design (ASID) certification and continues to expand her design horizons with attendance at design events.
Her eye for color, knowledge of materials and products and her ability to facilitate design that flows beautifully from room to room or rooftop to foundation, enhances the architecture of every home she works with. And unless clients have seen Alicia’s home, they don’t experience her personal preferences, for when she does design work in their homes, it reflects only their preferences.
